Projects - Trading hope

Trading Hope

‘TRADING HOPE’ is an innovative idea to link retired volunteer business people in the UK and Ireland with SME’s in Southeast Europe, with a project pilot starting in Serbia.  It is a timely and practical initiative to support the transition of businesses towards global and European trading.

As the backbone of not only the economy, but in many cases, also the social structures, SME’s play a vital role in the cohesion of populations; a framework that had been destroyed by conflict and economic hardship. It is therefore essential to the progress and revival of the country to foster the development of SMEs so that they can modernise and survive in the climate that EU pre-accession brings.  As an integral part of the fabric of communities, renewed trade through existing SMEs can be a dynamic force for social and economic renewal.
