28 May 2007: Employed Empowered – Public Project Launch

Showing widespread optimism and support for this innovative and practical project, Employed, Empowered was officially launched on 28 May 2007 at the Media Centar, Belgrade.

With the work in the field and the research elements already up and running, Nenad Sebek, CDRSEE, Danijela Korac-Mandic, NSHC and Prof. dr. Mihail Arandarenko, representing the CPDD presented the project to 20 journalists and representatives of international and local organisations active in the field of migration, such as UNHCR and IOM.

Guest speakers were Esmeralda Hernandes-Aragones, Head of the Political Section of the European Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Serbia and Aleksandra Jovic, Head of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Team of the Government of Serbia.

The project was perceived positively. A close co-operation of governmental and non-governmental actors, on the national and international stage has been established, in order to achieve sustainability, acceptance and penetrating power for the initiative.
