JHP roundtable discussion in Zagreb, October 30th
Echoing the participative and multi-perspective methodology of the JHP workbooks, the JHP project is in itself a democratic process. With this in mind, the CDRSEE and the Croatian Helsinki Committee invited both supporters and critics of the JHP to a roundtable discussion.
Following the dissemination of the Croatian language edition of the books, a wide range of guests were invited to read the books and attend the roundtable with their comments and critiques.
With speakers including JHP book editors as well as professors of philosophy and of history, the debate openly addressed many of the issues of the project, thus ensuring that critical thought, question posing and self reflection were encouraged and celebrated in the same manner as the methodology of the books promotes in the classroom.
Teachers, historians, journalists and civil society figures participated in the lively and constructive debate. |
