CDRSEE at European Forum Alpach 2008

From 14 to 30 August 2008, the forum explored the issue of how perception and interpretation lead to diagnostics that in turn have an impact on decision-making. The general topic of ‘Perception and Decision’ was discussed by a variety of scientific disciplines and was presided upon by Dr. Erhard Busek. The event offers an opportunity to enter into discussion with renowned personalities.

Indeed, panelists included, amongst many others, Dimitrij Rupel, Ursula Plassnik (discussing European partnerships), Zalmay Mamozy Khalilzad and Alexandr Vondra (Discussing Euro-Atlantic relations), Hans Winkler (for the UN and Peace-building in Africa), Ivan Vejvoda (for the Role of think tanks), Vladimir Chizhov (discussing the perception of Russia in Europe). A special lecture entitled ‘ Kosovo – Between Rhetoric and Reality’ was given by Bajram Rexhepi, the former Prime Minister of Kosovo. Nenad Sebek, the Center’s Executive Director, was invited to speak at the forum about ‘Stereotypes in past and present’, a discussion chaired by Emil Brix.
