CDRSEE rocks EXIT!

13 July 2008

What do you take with you if you are performing at one of Europe’s most happening, funky, energetic and diverse music festivals?  A guitar…?  Groupies and roadies…?….a list of the most ridiculous backstage demands you can think up?  ….well, if you are the CDRSEE, you take sticky syrupy pastries!

Reprising the creative and dramatic interpretation of history teaching in Southeast Europe that was so successful in the European Parliament in February, the CDRSEE offered an amusing and tasty look at the JHP to an audience and the media at the EXIT Festival  on July 13th.  Set in a field and castle near Novi Sad, the EXIT festival is a mixture of music, activism and coming together of cultures and creativity.  It was at EXIT that bands, groups and musicians from across the Balkans first played together in Serbia, following the conflicts of the 1990’s, and the event has since grown into a 5 day celebration of music, NGO work and international festivities that draws acts and audiences from across the globe.

The CDRSEE presented the JHP and Employed Empowered in an unusual way that included baklava, audience participation and plenty of humour, despite the serious content.  With media coverage and footage to be used in the upcoming CDRSEE film, the event was a successful showcase of the CDRSEE’s work, approach and personality.
