Pieter Stek
Pieter Stek has been Executive Director of the World Bank
Group for Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus,
Georgia, Israel, fY Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, The Netherlands, Romania
and Ukraine from November 1996 to November 2002.
Prior to that, he has had a long carrier with the Ministry
of Finance of the Netherlands and with the De Nederlandsche Bank (Dutch
Central Bank). At the Ministry of Finance he served as Director for Foreign
Financial Relations (1984-1996), Chairman of the Committee on Financial
Markets of the OECD (1983-1996), Alternate Member of the Monetary Committee
(1992-1996), Member of the Monetary Committee (1991-1992), Alternate Member
of the Monetary Committee of the EC (1984-1991) and Director Domestic
Monetary Affairs (1978-1984).
He has also served as Member of the Board of Directors of
the Netherlands Bank for Municipalities (1988-1996) and Member of the
Conseil d'Administration of the Institut de l'Ecu (1992-1996).
Mr. Stek’s positions at the Dutch Central Bank include Assistant
Chief of the Research Department (1974-1978), Assistant Chief for International
Affairs (1970-1974), Assistant to the Netherlands Executive Director at
the IMF (1969-1970), and at the Department of International Affairs (1965-1969).
Pieter Stek holds a Degree in Economics (monetary, macro-
and welfare economics, public finance) from the University of Amsterdam.
He is married and has two children. |
